Quick understanding the difference between C45 steel and Q235 steel

To better and correctly choose steels, we should have basic knowledge of C45 steel and Q235.

 

1.The carbon content is different.
    1.1 C45 is one medium carbon steel and carbon content is 45/10000. C45 has excellent machining peformance, poor welding performance.
    1.2 Q235 is one low carbon steel, carbon content is less than 20/10000. It has good welding performance, good plasticity.

2. Q in Q235 stands for yield strength, and 235 stands for yield strength, in kilograms of force per square meter.

    This grade is widely used for profiles, bars and so on, previously called A3 steel.

3, Others
    C45 is quenching performance is not good, can be hardened to HRC42~46. C45 is widely used in machinery manufacturing. That's why our customers choose          them for shafts and some mechanical parts. If C45 needs surface hardness and wants to play the superior mechanical properties, the surface is often carburized        and hardened.
