How to fix the deformation issue of aluminum alloy parts?
The thermal expansion coefficient of aluminum alloy parts is large, and it is easy to deform during thin-wall machining. When free forging blanks are used, the machining allowance is large, and the deformation problem is very visible.
What measures should be adopted when CNC processing aluminum alloy parts are deformed?
In CNC processing, there are many reasons for the deformation of aluminum alloy parts, and the material, the shape of parts, production conditions, cutting oil performance, etc.
It mainly has the following aspects: the deformation caused by the stress in the blank, the deformation caused by cutting force and cutting heat, and the deformation caused by clamping force.
For this kind of CNC parts processing problems, we Accu have specialized new precision with practical experience to come up with some solutions.
1. Optimize the tool structure
Reduce the number of milling cutter teeth and enlarge the chip storage space. Because the aluminum alloy material plasticity is larger, the machining deformation is larger, the need for larger chip space, so the chip groove bottom radius should be larger, the number of milling cutter teeth is less as well.
2. Fine grinding knife teeth
Before using a new knife, you should use a fine oilstone to gently grind the knife teeth in front and behind several times to reduce the residual burr and slight serrations when grinding the knife teeth. This not only reduces the cutting heat but also reduces the cutting deformation.
3. Strictly control the tool wear standard
After tool wear, the surface roughness of the work-piece increases, and the deformation of the work-piece increases with the rise of cutting temperature. Therefore, in addition to the selection of good grinding tool materials, but also should strictly control the degree of tool wear, otherwise it is easy to produce debris nodules. The temperature of the work-piece should not be too high during cutting to reduce deformation.
